For Christine and Michael

May your love be like an adhesive which never yellows and fails;
And form a strong hydrogen bond between Canada and Wales.

May your love be like a favourite mug that can always be mended;
Perhaps with far more Paraloid than intended.

May your love be like our waterlogged wood;
Mushy in some places and in others remarkably good.

May your love require little consolidation and no extra grout;
Because you'll remember to care for one another throughout.

And may your love never corrode and fall apart;
Instead let it develop a beautiful patina of the heart!
